Dutch startup Stippl announces funding, plans to use generative AI


Stippl an Amsterdam-based startup that provides a travel planning platform, has received €575,000 in a pre-seed funding round.

The funding was led by Australia-based Marbruck Investments and Netherlands-based Volve Capital. The startup, shared the funding news alongside plans to introduce artificial intelligence-powered capabilities to its travel planning solution.

Founded in 2021, Stippl said it currently is available in 160 countries and has 230,000 users around the globe with 70,000 active users monthly.

“We want to really strengthen our position as the travel app and the travel community travelers use throughout the year,” said co-founder Luuc Verhoeven.

The platform allows travelers to build itineraries, find accommodation through other platforms such as Booking.com, discover activities with resources such as GetYourGuide and more. Users can also create videos using their travel photos and follow friends and content creators to see their itineraries.

The company is exploring the use of generative AI to enhance its capabilities and is also considering creating a subscription program.
