WP Holding is selling 100% of the shares in Invia Flights Germany GmbH to Tongcheng Travel Holdings Limited in a deal valuing the company at approximately €42.3 million.
Invia Flights Germany GmbH, a subsidiary of Invia Group, owns the well-known flight booking platform Fluege.de, which operates in the German, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) region. Poland-based WP Holding first announced it was acquiring Invia Group for €240 million n December 2024. The deal was finalized in April.
The sale of Fluege.de marks WP Holding’s exit from the flight sector, with the company noting that the move will increase its focus on key brands such as Invia, Ab-in-den-Urlaub.de, Szallas.hu, Wakacje.pl and Travelplanet.pl.
“Fluege.de is a strong brand that will gain new growth opportunities in its new environment. For us, this is a moment to streamline our portfolio. We can now fully focus on the heart of our travel segment—package holidays and domestic travel. That’s where we see the greatest potential for growth, innovation and customer satisfaction,” said Adam Rogaliński, VP of corporate development of WP Holding.
China-based Toncheng Travel said the acquisition of Fluege.de will bolster its flight ticket-booking business in Europe, and chief capital officer Joyce Li said Fluege.de is a “valuable strategic fit that aligns with our long-term objectives” thanks to its “strong brand recognition and loyal user base.”
The deal requires approval from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, and the final purchase price is also subject to change based on the net working capital and net debt of Fluege.de as of the closing date.
