Tourism Authority of Thailand hosts Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise 2024

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise 2024: Celebrating 50 Years Thai-China Diplomatic Relations golf tournament on Thursday, 19th December, at Siam Country Club Waterside and Rolling Hills in Pattaya, Chon Buri.

The event welcomed over 300 Chinese golfers from across China for an extraordinary experience blending competitive play with meaningful cultural exchange, celebrating the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.

The golfers, who arrived under Thailand’s specialised golf package tours, not only competed in the tournament but also explored some of the country’s premier golfing destinations.

The event also highlighted Thailand’s reputation as a top-tier golf destination, renowned for its international-standard courses, year-round playability, and exceptional hospitality.

Into the ultimate golf paradise

TAT deputy governor for international marketing in Asia and the South Pacific Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai remarked: “As 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Thai-China diplomatic relations, TAT is seizing this milestone to deepen its engagement with Chinese tourists. By positioning Thailand as the ultimate golf paradise, we aim to attract high-quality visitors, stimulate local economies, and solidify Thailand’s reputation as a world-class destination offering unparalleled hospitality and unforgettable experiences.”

To showcase Thailand’s diverse offerings, TAT organised a familiarisation trip for representatives from Chinese travel agencies and media as part of the golfing activities.

This initiative highlighted Thailand’s unique travel experiences, from its rich cultural heritage to luxurious wellness services, fostering opportunities for future collaborations and enhancing the country’s appeal as a premier travel destination.

The “Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise 2024” event aligns with TAT’s strategic focus on niche markets, particularly sports tourism, which continues to gain popularity among Chinese travellers.

According to the Sports Tourism Theme Report by Mafengwo, outdoor sports such as golf are increasingly favoured by modern Chinese tourists, particularly millennials and urban professionals.

With over 100 international-standard golf courses, outstanding facilities, and complementary attractions such as Thai cuisine, wellness services, and stunning natural landscapes, Thailand is uniquely positioned to meet this growing demand and solidify its status as a premier golf destination.
