Shiji, Amadeus, Duetto and more hospitality tech news from HITEC 2024

Dozens
of hospitality industry technology providers released new and updated products
this week during HITEC, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and
Conference, which took place in Charlotte.

The
event convened more than 5,000 hospitality technology and financial
professionals for education, product demonstrations and networking.

Here
is a roundup of some of the notable news from some of the more than 300 exhibitors:

  • Shiji
has launched its Content Hub, a platform that sources, curates, manages and
automates the distribution of content for hotels.

    The
system centralizes content management across a variety of types including
visual, textual, amenities, facilities, taxes and policy content, reducing
errors and improving the experience for guests.

    Shiji
said the Content Hub is the result of requests from its customers for a
solution to solve their content challenges and has been developed over the last
two years in partnership with some of those customers.

  • Amadeus
is adding a chatbot to its Agency360 Plus data tool for hoteliers, as part of
its strategy to incorporate generative artificial intelligence into its
    business intelligence products.

    The
Amadeus Advisor chatbot has been built in partnership with Microsoft and is
powered by its Azure OpenAI service. Hoteliers can use the tool to quickly get
answers to questions related to things such as average daily rate, room nights
    or revenue pipeline.

    This
is a transformational step forward in our offering to provide more intelligent
and responsive technology, an improved user experience and remove the need for
hoteliers to manually comb through data,” said Michael Yeomans, senior vice president
of business intelligence and data solutions for hospitality at Amadeus.

    “The
tool quickly presents complex information in a simple and easy-to-understand
format, freeing up time for hoteliers to focus on more strategic initiatives
    that drive revenue.”

  • Duetto is expanding its revenue optimization
solutions to help hoteliers manage revenue across all segments, including
    transient, group and function space.

The company has updated its BlockBuster
group revenue tool and integrated a new function space tool now called
    OpenSpace.

Duetto said BlockBuster enables hoteliers to
“streamline workflows between revenue, sales and catering teams to deliver a
seamless quote for group business at the right rate at the right time.” The
system provides information about incremental profit and alternative stay dates
to help hoteliers make transient displacement decisions based on profitability.

    And OpenSpace is the
new name of MiceRate, a solution Duetto
    acquired in February
. It provides algorithm-based pricing for meetings and
events and includes a booking engine and quotation tool.

  • Zucchetti North America has launched updates to its central
reservation system and booking engine solutions. The company said the solutions
will help chain hotels enhance conversions and maximize revenue through their
    direct channels.

The company has added new reservation management
functionality to its Vertical Booking CRS to help hoteliers manage rates,
payment policies, discounts and corporate contracts across their entire
    portfolio of properties.

The Booking Engine has new booking conversion tools and enables
guests to search for a room across every property in a chain and then filter
those results to find the suitable hotel.

  • DerbySoft and IDeaS announced a partnership that will see
IDeaS’ G3 Revenue Management System integrated with DerbySoft’s Property
    Connector distribution solution.

The companies said the partnership will enable properties to
maximize their revenue potential, streamline operations and make smarter,
data-backed decisions that help them stay competitive.

“This collaboration is poised to revolutionize the way our
hotel partners manage their operations, pricing, and distribution strategies,”
said Duane Overgaard, president of connectivity and senior vice president at
    DerbySoft.

“By simplifying complexities and enhancing efficiency, our
joint solution empowers hoteliers to optimize revenues and deliver exceptional
guest experiences. We are deeply committed to continuous innovation and are
confident that this integration will set a new standard in hospitality
    technology.”

  • Otelier, a performance optimization platform for
hospitality, has released new features and enhanced functionality in its
    business intelligence software, IntelliSight.

The company said the updated solution will help those working
in revenue management, operations, finance and accounting to have better
insights to make smart business decisions quickly.

    “IntelliSight has been
rebuilt on a modern, cloud architecture, leveraging best-in-class capabilities
developed over several years,” said Niki Johnson, chief product officer at
Otelier. “With a focus on integrations with the systems hoteliers rely on most,
our team has spent countless development hours improving the capabilities,
including normalizing data streams and upgrading the user interface, based on
direct feedback from hotel owners and operators.”

    The company said it is
working to make the use of analytical artificial intelligence models and generative
AI to enable “a new world of predictive and prescriptive analytics and
    automation.”
