In a significant development for travellers, Rex has announced a new interline partnership with Etihad Airways. This partnership marks a new era of choice and connection for passengers on Rex’s domestic routes, providing convenient connections to Etihad’s extensive global network.
“Partnering with a world-class airline like Etihad brings a new era of choice and connection for Rex passengers,” said Warrick Lodge, Rex’s General Manager of Network Strategy. “Passengers will be able to fly to either Sydney or Melbourne on Rex and then connect on Etihad to 72 destinations across the globe.”
Etihad’s international network spans Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the USA. The entire journey, including Etihad and Rex connecting flights, can be booked under one booking, offering passengers the convenience of through-check baggage where permitted.
Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about the new partnership. “This exciting new partnership significantly expands connectivity options for Etihad guests, providing them with effortless access from our gateways in Sydney and Melbourne to pivotal destinations within the Rex network, including Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast. Equally, we are thrilled to warmly welcome Rex customers, enabling them to seamlessly integrate into our expanding global network.”
Rex flights are now conveniently available for sale on Etihad’s website through trusted travel agents and online travel agencies. According to the latest government data, Rex, known for its reliability, boasts the highest rate of on-time departures and the lowest cancellation rate among domestic carriers.
This partnership marks the second interline agreement for Rex, which also has an existing interline arrangement with Delta Air Lines. These partnerships underscore Rex’s commitment to providing passengers with a seamless and connected travel experience.
