June is here! It’s time to savor the start of the summer months, enjoying the longest day of the year and pleasant weather. Locals and visitors soak up much needed vitamin D and good times. Social events are planned around the long sunny days. There is a festive spirit in the air. It’s the perfect time for lingering along the banks of the Seine and Canal St. Martin, enjoying a glass of rosé en terrasse, Parisian picnics in the Jardin des Tuileries or Parc Monceau made up of the bounty of early summer produce from the local market, and best of all – preparations for les vacances. We compiled our picks of what to do in Paris in June. The month is filled with live musical events and performances, festivals, free concerts, sporting events, blockbuster exhibitions, other special events and more.
Paris In June – Weather and Other Visitor Information
It seems we say it month after month but June, being the start of summer, is one of the best times to visit Paris. Expect warm weather, with highs coming in at an average temperature of 24°C (around 75°F) and average low temperatures of 14°C (around 57°F). The June weather forecast sees about 8 rainy days in the month. Although it is the beginning of summer, still pack a light jacket and umbrella. It’s a good idea to have layers for cloudy days and when the sun goes down.
We are approaching peak months for travel so first-time visitors wanting to see major sites like the Eiffel tower and Louvre Museum should be prepared for large crowds and long lines. The good weather and long days means it’s a great time to take advantage of a private walking tour, Seine river cruise, or a day trip to places like the Palace of Versailles, Loire Valley and Disneyland Paris. There are no public holidays in June.

Bande dessinée, 1964 – 2024, Centre Pompidou – until Nov 4
The history of comics, or “Bande Dessinee”, is explored starting with total immersion into the 9th art. Discover a diversity of universes ranging from the Franco-Belgian clear line style to Japanese manga, through the graphic abundance of the underground and the most abstract contemporary styles.
Éternelle Notre-Dame, Parvais de Notre Dame – until Sept 29
If you’re coming to Paris and disappointed that Notre Dame is still closed due to the devastating fire of 2019, have I got an alternative for you. Eternelle Notre Dame is an immersive virtual reality tour through the sacred church. It traces its conception in the 13th century through its amazing history until present day. You won’t want to miss this spectacular exhibition, located just in front of the legendary cathedral.
Events in Paris in June 2024
Gay Pride Parade, June 29
For four decades, thousands of participants have joined the Gay Pride Parade – Marche de Fiertées LGBTQ. The festival emphasizes both fun and the fight for equal rights and against discrimination. This is a celebration in supporting individuals in their right to live authentically. Organized by hundreds of volunteers the event is a contribution to the ongoing progress of equal rights. In 2021 around 800,000 people attended making it one of largest pride parades in the world.
Paris Fashion Week- Menswear Spring/Summer 2025, June 24-27
It’s the men’s turn to do their little turn on the catwalk. A star-studded event, Paris Fashion Week showcases the hottest new designs all around the City of Light.
Roland Garros – The French Open, May 20-June 9
Attended by thousands of spectators annually, this sporting event is one of the highlights of the year. Roland Garros – The French Open lasts over two weeks and marks the start of the warmer months.
Prix de Diane Longines, Hippodrome de Chantilly, June 26
Get your champagne and flutes ready for this elegant and prestigious horse racing event. The spectacular Prix de Diane Longines invites thoroughbred horses who will be waiting for you at the starting gate just outside of Paris at the Chantilly Racecourse.
Family Festival 2024, Jardin D’acclimatation & The Fondation Louis Vuitton, June 15-16
Creativity and fun are on the menu for the Family Festival 2024. The Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Frank Gehry building, the “Ellsworth Kelly. Shapes and Colors, 1949-2015″ and Matisse, “The Red Studio” exhibitions and the Jardin are the setting for this year’s festival. Concerts, workshops, live shows, hip-hop dancing, storytelling walks and sports, poetic shows, and yoga are on the program. Toddlers are not forgotten with a dedicated workshop, baby courses and relaxation area. Very cool!
Garden Festival, La Defense Parvais, June 25-July 26
In La Defense you’ll get to party in the shadow of Paris’s ONLY skyscrapers….besides, of course the Eiffel Tower! This business district, located in the west of Paris will transform into an outdoor space to eat, drink, chill, listen to music and dance. The Garden Festival at La Defense is FREE and great for the entire family.
Les Soldes, June 26-July 23
Almost EVERYTHING is on sale all over Paris (and France) for Les Soldes, so get out your walking shoes and your wallets. Stores will be slashing prices for the summer, including designer labels which will get a markdown. It’s a much-anticipated dream scenario for international shoppers and it happens twice a year.

Fête de la Musique, various locations, June 21
This annual event has become one of France’s most beoved cultural festivals. Taking place on the summer solstice, millions of spectators fill the streets, bars, restaurants, and concert venues throughout France. This free event, takes place in the evening and lasts until the morning. The Fête de la Musique is suitable for all audiences and showcases a variety of live performances from different musical genres.
We Love Green, Bois de Vincennes, May 31- June 2
Early June means that We Love Green is back. Returning to the Bois de Vincennes in 2024, this annual festival attracted 100,000 visitors last year. This testifies to the event’s popularity. 2024’s lineup includes live bands like Burna Boy, Ninho, Chase and Status, Justice, Kaytranada, Kim Gordon, Sza, Peggy Gou, skepta and more.
La Ville Dansée , Various Locations, June 7-9
Enjoy this event that brings visitors special and innovative performances by local choreographers. The Dancing City, “La Ville Dansée” presents ten choreographed pieces, all outdoors, with the city as their backdrop. One of the highlights includes the unveiling of Idio Chichava’s, in collaboration with Benjamin Millepied, Dzuda on the roof of the Philharmonie de Paris

Solidays Festival, Hippodrome de Longchamp, June 13-20
Solidays Festival is a music festival held at the Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris at the end of June,
dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the fight against AIDS. The headliners for 2024 include Anitta, Gazo and Tiakola, Laurent Garnier, Louise Attaque, Mika, Same Smith and many more.
Nuit Blanche, Various Locations, June 1
Nuit Blanche returns for its 23nd edition! This major event in the cultural life of the capital will fill the streets and monuments of Paris with contemporary art from dusk to dawn. Parisians and tourists are invited to engage with works by national and international artists as they stroll around the city. Sculptures, projections, concerts, and temporary installations are scattered throughout the city, providing an unforgettable “white” night experience.
Chopin Festival, Parc de Bagatelle, June 22-July 7
Conferences and concerts pay tribute to the Polish composer during the Chopin Festival in the Orangerie, in the Parc de Bagatelle organized by the Chopin Society. Classical music lovers will enjoy hearing emerging talent, works by contemporary composers as well musical connections between Chopin’s music and his predecessors and successors.
