Oman Air Unveils Demand and Passenger Convenience-Based Network Changes

Oman Air has announced many network-wide changes to strategy as part of its continuous transformation, which seeks to strengthen its position in a fiercely competitive industry and boost overall financial performance.

These include the introduction of a new route, Sialkot, as well as the termination of flights to Islamabad, Lahore, Colombo, and Chittagong. The airline would also reduce frequency to some markets while expanding capacity to two existing destinations (Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram). In addition, three destinations will be offered seasonally: Trabzon in the summer and Zurich and Malé in the winter.

Beginning this summer, Oman Air will implement initiatives to optimise its timetable. Flight timings for many of Oman’s destinations have been updated to better cater to the Omani market and serve critical flows in and out of Oman. Flight times have been revised for several of its destinations, emphasising more favourable slots to offer more convenience for direct passengers and optimise connecting windows.

Meanwhile, the airline constantly reviews its strategy to react to changing market conditions and discover additional opportunities. Oman Air remains dedicated to the social and economic objectives of Oman’s 2040 Vision, collaborating with government partners such as the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
