Mercure and ibis London Earls Court Hotel to partially open by end July

ibis London Earls Court Hotel has announced its upcoming repositioning as a co-branded Mercure and ibis property, following a multi-million pound refurbishment over the last year. The co-located dual branded property will be known as Mercure and ibis London Earls Court Hotel and will feature 226 ibis rooms and 282 Mercure rooms, merging two of Accor’s iconic brands into one sought-after destination in West London.

The property’s reposition will be completed in phases, with a soft launch to begin at the end of July 2024, which will include 226 ibis entry level rooms and 144 Mercure rooms, a new restaurant named Barnaby’s, as well as a well-appointed meeting space by Mercure. Additional rooms under the Mercure brand will be added later this year, while the project is expected to be completed in early 2025.

The hotel will be offering a promotional offer where guests staying at the hotel will receive 20% off the total bill at Barnaby’s Kitchen & Bar until 30th September 2024.

At 12-storeys tall, Mercure and ibis London Earls Court Hotel offers breathtaking views of the London skyline. The Mercure rooms will feature a ‘Layers of Time’ theme having been inspired by the iconic Tardis of Doctor Who, which stands in front of nearby Earl’s Court station. The rooms will have outstanding quality, inspired by local culture with a minimalistic design. The hotel will also feature a range of renovated room types under the ibis brand to cater for families and any travellers’ needs. All of the spacious and comfortable guest rooms will be en-suite and equipped with environmentally friendly air-cooling.

The renovated hotel will boast versatile meeting spaces capable of accommodating up to 1,200 guests, making it ideal for conferences and social events. Additionally, the pillar-free Grand Ballroom, with a capacity for up to 800 guests, will be the perfect venue for gala dinners and other evening functions.  The hotel will also offer five smaller rooms suitable for business meetings with capacity for up to 50 guests each. The hotel’s versatile meeting space will benefit from abundant natural daylight and will be fitted with state-of-the-art technology.

The stylish communal areas within the hotel have been thoughtfully designed to cater to both business and leisure guests.

Barnaby’s, the on-site restaurant and bar, has been designed in collaboration with Paris Society. Central to the theme is the character of Barnaby, who returns to London to enjoy his 60s at home after spending many years adventuring abroad and discovering the world. Barnaby embraces both the British pride and the international curiosity so true to his home city, which is reflected in both the restaurant and bar menus.

The restaurant will serve home dining with a twist, using overseas cooking methods and spices, and with seasonal produce at its heart. The menu will feature a variety of great classics of British cuisine as well as favourites from far away. Signature dishes will include Barnaby’s Chorizo Roll, Spiced Fish Pie and Limoncello Caprese. Meanwhile, the bar menu will include classic cocktails from around the world twisted with local touches.
