Juniper Group adds Inspiretec in latest travel tech acquisition

Juniper Group has acquired travel software platform Inspiretec for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1995 and based in Cardiff, Wales, Inspiretec provides reservation systems, travel customer relationship management systems and digital tools for travel agencies and tour operators. It also offers add-on modules such as a self-service portal and quotation tools.

The companies said the acquisition will help Inspiretec improve both its connectivity and product offerings.

“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the Inspiretec story. I’m immensely proud that Inspiretec is now part of the Juniper Group—an organization that truly understands travel technology. This partnership allows us to further enhance our platform by integrating additional products and services from across the group,” said Simon Powell, founder and CEO of Inspiretec.

Juniper Group CEO Jaime Sastre said that he has “great confidence” in Inspiretec.

“I am also excited to see Inspiretec’s customers gain access to the market-leading products and capabilities offered by other Juniper Group companies, which together will further enhance and enrich their end-to-end travel distribution experience,” Sastre said.

This is just the latest deal for Juniper, which is part of Vela Software and Constellation Software.

So far this year, the company has scooped up airline connectivity and retailing specialist InteRES, event management software provider RezMagic and automotive software company BMF Media Information Technology GmBH (BMF) for undisclosed amounts. Juniper also acquired Scotland based travel tech specialist Traveltek last October.
