Holland America Line broke its previous single-day sales record on 16 January 2024, just six months after posting its greatest booking day. The 16 January reservations surpassed the previous record set on 11 July 2023 by 18%, making it Holland America Line’s most significant sales day in its 150-year history.
The cruise line also established a record for the week ending 19 January, establishing its highest-ever bookings week during a “wave” season, which is generally a busy time for the cruise industry between January and March. More than a third of the week’s bookings were for Holland America Line’s award-winning Alaska cruises. Guests were also planning, with 22% of reservations for cruises departing in 2025 or later.
“Stacking records on top of records is a sign of continued strength for our business and an endorsement from our guests that they are truly having the time of their lives exploring the world with us,” said Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line. “Our position as the cruise line with the most visits to Alaska’s glaciers and more ways to see wildlife is resonating, and we’re pleased to see so many guests already planning their 2025 vacations.”
The records coincide with Holland America Line’s “Time of Your Life” sale. Until 29 February 2024, passengers who book select summer 2024 through spring 2025 voyages with the “Have It All” premium cruise package will enjoy a free cabin upgrade, ticket reductions, free fares for children, and reduced deposits. Cruisers who book before 31 January 2024 will get up to $500 in onboard credit per cabin, depending on the voyage length. This is in addition to the perks of shore excursions, drinks, specialty dining, and Wi-Fi that come with the “Have It All” ticket.
Holland America Line is the cruise industry’s leading provider of Glacier Bay visits in Alaska. Alaska Up Close immerses passengers in the local culture with genuine onboard programming, cruise activities, and award-winning shore excursions.
This week, Holland America Line debuted its newest set of Legendary Voyages, a new category of longer voyages with destination-rich itineraries designed to allow customers to stay longer and programming that enhances the experience in each port. In 2025, the cruise company will perform two simultaneous journeys of more than 120 days: the 2025 Grand Voyage: Pole-to-Pole and the 2025 Grand World Voyage. 2025 Grand World Voyage.
