Etihad Airways and Air Serbia have signed a strategic bilateral codeshare agreement that will improve connectivity for passengers of both airlines across several destinations.
Etihad passengers will now have quick access to 12 Southeast European destinations via Air Serbia’s Belgrade hub, nine of which are new to Etihad’s extended network.
The codeshare agreement improves the travel experience for passengers by allowing them to make a single booking and go through a seamless check-in process, as well as have their luggage effortlessly transferred to their final destination.
Etihad Airways customers can now easily access Air Serbia’s network via Etihad’s gateways in Athens, Milan, Rome, and Vienna.
Etihad’s VP of Alliances and Industry Affairs, Jurriaan Stelder, said, “This partnership expands our codeshare network and provides guests with convenient access to 12 of Air Serbia’s leisure and business destinations, including Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Skopje and Sofia.” We also look forward to welcoming Air Serbia customers travelling from Europe to Abu Dhabi, where they will have the opportunity to explore our home’s inviting hospitality and rich culture, including stunning beaches, world-class cultural landmarks and theme parks, and serene desert landscapes.”
Air Serbia’s General Manager of Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said, “By joining forces with Etihad, we expand the reach of our services, offering our passengers a more comprehensive array of destinations and connectivity options.
“This translates into more choices, flexibility, and convenience for those who choose Air Serbia for their journeys. Passengers will now enjoy the ease of booking connecting flights and checking in once for their entire journey.”
Etihad Guest is the reward programme for both airlines, allowing members to earn or redeem Etihad Guest miles throughout the Etihad Airways and Air Serbia networks and benefit from tier status.
The new codeshare began operating on 30 January 2024, and flights began on 3 February 2024.
