Colletts Travel, part of Global Travel Collection, reported a notable preference for extended holidays to long-haul destinations for the Easter holidays compared to 2023.
The agency has observed higher interest in travel to countries including Japan, the Caribbean, Dubai, America, Mauritius, South Africa, and Abu Dhabi. Popularity has been heavily driven by families making the most of the longer break, with trips ranging from 10 to 14 nights compared to between 7 to 10 nights in 2023.
Due to an earlier Easter in 2024, Colletts Travel has also observed a surge in the popularity of ski vacations, particularly in Switzerland, with optimal snow conditions still available in select resorts.
Head of Contracting & Tour Operations, Jennifer Hartnett said, “Easter is a special time for families to come together for a memorable holiday. Our focus on long-haul destinations aligns perfectly with the extended holiday period, allowing travellers to make the most of their Easter break.”
Global Travel Collection’s Vice President, UK, Francesca Mendola added, “Our luxury leisure division has been thriving and we have been seeing a significant increase in length of trips. For many families, Easter will be the first holiday of the year and it is promising to see our travellers venturing further to experience culture around the world.”
