Weeva – Launch Pitch at the Phocuswright Conference 2023

Weeva, one of PhocusWire’s Hot 25 Travel Startups for 2024, is a holistic business sustainability management company.

James Lever, chief technology officer at Weeva, presented the company and its goals during the Launch competition at The Phocuswright Conference 2023 last month in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Lever calls sustainability “complicated” and told the audience that word means different things for different people.

“There are so many different systems and so many standards,” he said. “But the interesting part is that we’re measuring the same metrics.”

With evolving legislation and climate change, Lever said the travel industry has an obligation to be responsible for its carbon footprint.

“So Weeva’s mission is to deliver affordable sustainability technology to businesses so that they can understand their impact,” Lever said. “We want businesses to drive change, not just certification, through transparent, achievable, sustainable tourism, real data.”

Based in London, the company founded in 2021 functions for clients almost like a fitness tracking app – but instead of cardio, it tracks sustainability and is focused on four factors, including conservation, commerce, culture and community.
